A request application along with demand draft in favour of Divisional Forest Officer, Katraniaghat Wild Life Sanctuary.

18. Do the Forest Rest Houses have Canteen Facility?

Canteen facility is available only at Motipur. All other forest rest houses are equipped with crockery. Visitors themselves manage food preparation.

19. How to make the cancellation of booked tickets?

Once tickets booked cannot be cancelled.

20. What are the provisions for citizens of Nepal?

22. Is there any provision of moving on foot/camping/staying in hides and machans/night --park/cycling/nature trails inside the park?

  • Moving on foot is not allowed.
  • Camping /staying in hides and machans are allowed only on notified places.
  • Night park/cycling/ are not allowed;
  • Nature trails inside the park are not allowed.

23. What are mandatory documents that I need to carry during the Park Visits?

For Indian nationals  - A photo ID
For Foreign nationals - Passport.

24. What are precautions I need to take for my safety while in the Park?

Do's and don’ts are displayed at many places in the Sanctuary.

  • Fire arms of any kind are not permitted.
  • Pets are not allowed.
  • Walking and tracking is strictly prohibited.
  • Entry is permitted only for day time.
  • Litters and Garbage are not allowed.
  • Smoking in the Jungle is strictly prohibited.
  • Transistors and tape recorders are not permitted.
  • Blowing of horns and driving above the speed limit is prohibited.
  • Teasing animal is strictly prohibited.
  • Entry without valid permit is not allowed.

25. What are the species of water birds seen in the wetlands of Katernia wild life sanctuary?

The main species of birds are:-
Marsh sandpiper, Dusky redshank, Great white Pelican, Northern pintail, Bar headed goose, Common shell duck, Marbled duck, Pond heron, Open billed stork, Grey lag goose, Sarus crane, Lesser whistling teal, Egrets, ,Comb duck, Coots, Cormorants, Storks ,White spoonbill, Black naked crane, Peafowl, Darters, White breasted kingfisher, Sandpipers, Common teal. Gadwall, Mallard, Spot billed duck, Common pochard, Ruddy shelduck, Wigeon, Painted stork, Tufted duck etc.
